2017 Renton River Days – Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. Event hours for Liberty Park (core features: free KidZone activities, Nibble of Renton food vendor booths, Community Booths/nonprofits, stage entertainment and Art Market/hand-crafted arts and crafts booths):

Friday, July 21: 11am-8pm
Saturday, July 22: 11am-8pm
Sunday, July 23: 11am-6pm

2. Free Shuttle Service:

Continuous shuttle service for pick-up and drop-off at two locations:
Renton Memorial Stadium (Logan Ave. N.) and at Liberty Park (Bronson Way N.) near the tennis courts.
Friday, July 21, 10am-9pm
Saturday, July 22, 9am-9pm
Sunday, July 23, 10am-7pm

3. Parade:

Download the  2017 Renton River Days Parade Application.  Parade Application deadline is June 28, 2017.
Parade day is Saturday, July 22, on S. 3rd St. in downtown Renton. The Parade will begin at 10am.     Questions regarding the Parade should be directed to Volunteer Parade Chair Nancy Quinn at 425.572.5702  or email at parade@rentonriverdays.org.

4. Wenatchee Youth Circus Performances:

The Wenatchee Youth Circus performs two shows on Friday, July 21 at 1:30pm and 6:00pm and one show on Saturday, July 22, at 1:30pm. Circus shows are at Cedar River Park. Circus tickets cost $2/pp for children under 18 and $3/pp for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the Festival Information Booth in Liberty Park or 30 minutes before show time at Cedar River Park. Easy access from Liberty Park to Cedar River Park on foot using the I-405 underpass.

5. Where to Purchase Rubber Ducky Derby Tickets:

Tickets will available for purchase at the Renton Rotary Exhibitor Booth in Liberty Park during festival weekend July 21 – 23, and  Rotarians will be selling tickets along the Parade route on South 3rd Street on Saturday, July 22.  Rotarians will also be selling Ducky Derby tickets from the Rotary Table at the Renton Farmers Market at the Piazza in downtown Renton on Tuesdays during June and July.  Tickets are also available for purchase at St. Charles Place Antiques, Cugini Florists, The Renton Printery and Garland Jewelers located in downtown Renton, and from any Renton Rotary Club member.

For each $5 ticket, supporters have a chance to win one of several great prizes (list below were 2016 prizes):

  • 1st Place:     $1,000 donated by Renton Rotarians
  • 2nd Place:   $750 donated by Renton Coil Spring Co.
  • 3rd Place:    $500 Gift Card donated by IKEA
  • 4th Place:    $500 Gift Certificate donated by King & Bunnys Appliances
  • 5th Place:    $280 Renton Dining donated by Melrose Grill, Torero’s, Gyros House, Wildfin Grill and Marianna

6. Art Market (hand-crafted arts and crafts vendors at Liberty Park):

Download the 2017 Art Market Application for new vendors.  Application deadline is May 12, 2017.

7. Community Information Booths (nonprofits, social service agencies, sponsors, no commercial):

Download the  2017 Community Booth Application.  Community Booth Application deadline is June 9, 2017.
Community Booths (Friday-Sunday, July 21-23) in Liberty Park will be non-profits, social service agencies, neighborhood associations, churches, service clubs, and festival sponsors.  Booth hours will be Friday, July 21, 11am-8pm, Saturday, July 22, 11am-8pm, and Sunday, July 23, 11am-6pm.  All Exhibitors will be providing some type of free hands-on activity for children and families.  Renton River Days does not have a commercial sales or vendor section.   

8. Commercial Exhibitor/Vendors:

Renton River Days does NOT have a commercial vendor/exhibitor booth section. That benefit is reserved for Festival Sponsors. Commercial entities interested in sponsoring in 2017, should email Renton River Days/Sonja Mejlaender at smejlaender@rentonwa.gov .

9. Stage Entertainment:

Performers should email Renton River Days/Sonja Mejlaender (smejlaender@rentonwa.gov) or mail their promo packs to: Renton River Days, 1055 S. Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057.  Submit by January 31, 2017.  Only entertainment being considered will be contacted.

10. Food Vendors:

Renton River Days invites previous participants to return before considering new food vendors. Interested food vendors should email Volunteer Nibble of Renton Chairman, Jace Werre, beginning January 2017 at jace.werre@pse.com to see if there are opportunities.

11. Festival Souvenirs for Sale:

Visit the Festival’s Information Booth at Liberty Park, July 21-23, to see the entire selection of available Renton River Days souvenirs and products. Available this year will be the youth and adult t-shirt, mugs, and a variety of logo stitched hats including sportsman caps (faded denim and berry red), military-style cap (olive green), two-tone ball caps (khaki w/navy bill, and pebble w/black bill), and visors (marine blue and lime green).

The entire line of products and souvenirs are also available for sale at the Renton River Days Office, located on the 6th Floor of Renton City Hall (1055 S. Grady Way, Renton, WA  98057).  Interested shoppers are asked to call the Festival Information Line at 425.430.6528 to make a sales appointment or leave a message.
