Kelly Beymer is Administrator of the Community Services Department. Previously she served as the Parks and Golf Course Director and has worked for the City of Renton for over 10 years. She is a member of Renton Rotary and a Board Member for Renton River Days. Kelly says she loves being a part of this fantastic Renton community!
Kelly has been a Board member since 2010.
Board Member Emeritus
Tim Searing, originally from Longview, WA, first graduated from Central Washington University in Accounting and then obtained his Master of Science degree in Federal taxation from Golden Gate University. Tim retired as a partner from McGladrey in April 2014 after 43 years in public accounting. Tim lives in Renton with his wife Kimberly, and together they enjoy time with their three grown children and four grandchildren. Personal interests include fly fishing, golf and time at the family’s Cle Elum cabin. Tim is a member of the CWU College of Business Advisory Board, incoming Chair of the Salvation Army King County Advisory Board, past Chair (and current member) of the Park Commissioners for the City of Renton and is a member of the Athletic Committee of the Washington Athletic Club. Tim has been a Board member of Renton River Days since 1993 and currently serves as the volunteer Festival Treasurer.
Sonja Mejlaender, City of Renton Community Relations & Events, also serves as the Festival Coordinator and Secretary of the Board of Directors for Renton River Days. Sonja hails from Renton as a graduate of Renton High School and University of Washington. Among many unique and special attributes to River Days, she loves the community engagement which continues to strengthen River Days each year. Sonja is a member of Soroptimist Int’l of Renton and serves on the Board of Directors for Washington Festivals & Events Association and the Seafair Sanctioned Events Council. Passions outside of directing events, include travel, music (piano, guitar and a cappella singing), and numerous recreational sports.
Sonja has served on the Board since 1998.
Vicki Faull is currently the Branch Manager for Banner Bank and has been with the company for 18 years. In addition to serving on the Renton River Days Board she is on the board, executive committee and finance committee for the Renton Community Foundation. She also serves as the Chairperson for the Renton Annual Art Show.
Vicki has been a Board member since 2003.
Jeff Lukins is married and has two beautiful girls, one of which volunteers and works throughout the festival weekend supporting our stage entertainment. He started with Renton River Days in 1986 serving on the Entertainment Committee and as Volunteer Stage Manager for the festival entertainment. He has worked for over 35 years at the Boeing Company and is currently a Director in Sales supporting Commercial Aviation Services. Jeff was a Board member from 1994-1997, leaving due to work requirements, and has since rejoined the Board in 2010.
Randy Matheson is currently the Executive Director, Community Relations for the Renton School District. In addition to serving on the Renton River Days Board of Directors, Randy has also been President of the Washington School Public Relations Association, and Co-Chair of the King County Citizens Elections Oversight Committee.
Randy has been a Board member since 2009.
Veronica Medina grew up in Renton and has been an active part of this community for the last 35 years. She is currently the 2019-2010 Chairperson for the Board of Directors. She has served as a board member for the Renton Technical College Foundation, St. Anthony’s school commission and Renton River Days. She works in her family business running Torero’s Mexican Restaurants. Toreros-Mexican Restaurants.com.
